It is with a troubled heart to share the news of the passing of a young man, Carlos Nore Pope Malenga. Those of you who know sister Claudia are aware she lost her son last year in December. Carlos is the cousin to Heather, and they were very close. If we can all come together in support of the family in the loss of another loved one, it would be kindly appreciated.

Date of Death: 9th October 2025

Carlos was born in South Bend, Indiana, USA. At the tender age of 10 months, he left the United States of America for Malawi under the loving care of his late grandmother, Beatrice.

In September 2001, at 1 year and 7 months old, Carlos began his early education at Mary Pop-ins Montessori in Blantyre. He went on to attend Reception Class, Standards 1 and 2 at Saint Andrews Primary School.

In October 2004, Carlos experienced the great loss of his beloved grandmother.

From September 2006, he attended Chichiri Primary School, where he completed his Primary School Leaving Certificate. He was later selected to Limbe Community Day Secondary School, where he obtained his Malawi School Certificate of Education.

Carlos further pursued a Diploma in Community Development at PACT. Upon completion, he worked at Bearing Center in Blantyre until a month before returning to the United States of America.

In May 2022, Carlos returned to South Bend, Indiana, under the care of his beloved Aunt, Claudia Kandoje. He lived with her until he became independent. At the time of his passing, Carlos was residing and working in Knox, Indiana.

Carlos will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Chimwemwe Malenga, and his younger brother, Haroon Malenga. He was also a cherished cousin and big brother figure to Atupele, Oriana, Amina, and Aanaya.

He will be deeply missed by many family and friends alike.
