Kirk "Captain" Mueller Support!

In early May, our very own Kirk "Captain" Mueller was involved in a significant accident where he fell 15 feet off the top of a semitrailer. Kirk suffered significant, life altering injuries due to the impact of the fall. 15 broken and fractured ribs, a punctured lung, a tear in his aorta as well as breaking his back in multiple places. The lower spinal column break was a burst facture (think splinters and shattered bone) that has left him unable to walk. He has some feeling in his lower extremities but has lost all mobility. Due to his significant injuries and a few major setbacks, Kirk has a long road to recovery. He is currently in an extensive spinal treatment program that is focusing on his healing journey. The focus includes extensive physical therapy, learning adaptation skills along with coping skills to include what life will look like in a wheelchair. So many have reached out to send love, prayers and to lend a helping hand. We have felt the love from his bike community, our wonderful small town and friends that have become family. The Captain is an avid biker, excellent woodworker and loves the outdoors. Our goal is to make sure Kirk continues to do what he loves with some new modifications. His crew is planning a few bike runs and some fundraisers for later this summer. These are the positive vibes that are needed right now as Kirk, Beth, the kids and our family adjust to this life altering moment. Kirk is strong, determined and working really hard and as always "being Kirk" he is adding some comedic relief to the situation. We have every reason to believe that he will make that wheelchair his B!#*H.
