A Sudden Diagnosis

In early August, Candace’s husband, Marcus, was suddenly diagnosed with advanced cancer. What started as a whirlwind of hospital visits and procedures quickly became an overwhelming journey filled with tests, surgeries, and treatments. Despite everyone’s best efforts, Marcus’s illness has progressed rapidly. After weeks of hospitalization, he is now home on hospice care, surrounded by the love of his family.

Candace’s Role

Throughout this time, Candace has been Marcus’s tireless advocate and caregiver. She has been by his side through every doctor’s appointment, procedure, and difficult conversation, all while caring for their family. Many of you know Candace as someone who pours her energy into others, opens her heart to family and non-family alike, and provides a helping hand to anyone in need even when they don't ask (and particularly when they don't ask). Now she needs us to do the same for her.

Why We’re Fundraising

This sudden diagnosis has placed enormous emotional and financial strain on Candace and her family. In addition to medical bills, there are daily living expenses, household needs, and the reality of time away from work. Our hope is that by surrounding Candace with financial support, we can give her the space to focus on what matters most: being present with Marcus and their family during this precious time.
