My wife and I are facing one of the most difficult challenges of our lives. I have been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer that, heartbreakingly, is not curable. What makes this even more overwhelming is that my cancer is not behaving as it typically should, leaving my oncologists at a loss for answers.
This past Friday, we found out that the tumor that they removed 5 weeks ago came back faster than they expected. It had wrapped around my spinal cord and was causing paralysis in my legs. Another 5 plus hour surgery. Mentally, emotionally, physically exhausted right now and this is going to be a long road ahead for me in terms of recovery.
The financial strain of this journey is significant. All of the funds raised will go directly toward our monthly bills since I work hourly for hospice as well as mounting medical bills. Taking time off work means we could fall behind on our regular bills, so your support will help us stay afloat and allow us to focus on what matters most—finding answers and pursuing treatment.
The current plan for treatment is radiation will begin on December 29th and run through January 9th and then a new experimental chemo treatment with 3 different drugs will be administered for 3 months. WE BELIEVE GOD IS GOING TO WORK THIS TO SLOW THE CANCER AND GET US MORE TIME TO SERVE GOD AND LOVE OTHERS.
We would be deeply grateful for any amount you can contribute to help us through this journey. Even more, we believe in the power of prayer and would be humbled if you would keep us in your prayers—especially for wisdom for our doctors and for the cancer to slow down. We still have work to do for the cause of Christ, and your support, both financial and spiritual, means the world to us. Thank you for standing with us in hope and faith.
