Hi, I'm Cara. I have just been diagnosed with Invasive Lobular Carcinoma, a type of breast cancer. Sadly it wasn't found until it had invaded my lymph nodes. I now need radical treatment. This type of cancer is often referred to as sneaky, as it often doesn't show up on scans.

Having cancer is expensive. I've heard people say that before, but I'm just starting to find out how true that is. I need new clothes and equipment, transport costs, easy to cook food. I would like to access complimentary therapies to support recovery from surgery and chemotherapy to guard against neuropathy and muscle wastage. And I have bills to pay.

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and had already had to significantly cut back my hours over the past year as I'd been experiencing a flare. The intention was to regain strength and have the capacity to work more. This diagnosis has thrown a spanner in the works.
