So many people have asked how they can help make this cancer journey easier, and I truly don't know how to answer. We want to tackle it all on our own. At the same time, the cost of medical care is insane. We are driving to Cleveland every week at the moment. Wound care supplies, protein drinks, items to cover the surgical site on my head, time away from work, just all kinds of little things adding up along with the bills. The thing I need and want the most is prayers and friendship. But if you feel moved to help, CaringBridge guided me to attach this to my blog as a step of the CaringBridge setup. So here it is, as incredibly awkward as I feel about it.
If you're landing here before CaringBridge, I've been diagnosed with an aggressive malignant melanoma, and I have at least a year of treatment ahead at the Cleveland Clinic. In June my insurance (Cobra) will expire, and I don't have a great pathway to a new plan, so we are bracing for the expenses that will come with that, especially.
In no way do we expect people to give. We love you for caring, for praying, for sending uplifting messages. That's the most beneficial thing anyone can provide.
This is the link to CaringBridge, which explains the highs and lows of the last 5 weeks. There’s been bad news, good news, and many prayers and God moments in between.
