Cameron was just 15 years old when our lives changed in an instant. We were Christmas shopping when he suddenly couldn't walk a straight line, became dizzy, and passed out in the middle of the store. As a single mother of three boys, I was terrified. After many tests, Cameron was diagnosed with a bicuspid aorta valve—a condition that forced him to give up his dreams of playing football and participating in active sports. Despite this, Cameron has grown into a wonderful man, now 28, with a loving fiancé, Ireland, two young boys, and a baby girl on the way in January.
Recently, Cameron began experiencing painful numbness and purple discoloration in his hands and feet. The pain became unbearable, leading him back to the doctor. An echocardiogram revealed that not only has his aorta enlarged into the danger zone, but his mitral valve is also now affected. Both valves are regurgitating, causing poor blood flow to his extremities. There are additional abnormalities that require further investigation, and Cameron is unable to work while he undergoes more testing, including a transesophageal echocardiogram scheduled for December 23rd. With no insurance and not qualifying for state assistance, his medical bills are piling up and the financial stress is overwhelming. Depending on the results of these tests, Cameron may need surgery to address the worsening condition of his heart valves.
We are asking for your help to cover Cameron’s medical expenses and replace his lost income while his doctors determine the best course of treatment. This situation has created immense stress for Cameron, his fiancé, and their growing family—especially with Christmas approaching and a new baby on the way. As a mother, it breaks my heart to see my son and his family struggle. Please consider donating to help a wonderful family in their time of need. Your support will make a real difference and is deeply appreciated.
