Support for Caitlin Wilcox and Family

Donation protected
Caitlin Wilcox is a wife to Pastor Matt Wilcox and a full-time mother to two precious boys.

On Monday, April 22nd, Matt took Caitlin to the ER - she had been experiencing severe headaches and wasn't feeling well. After having MRI's at OSF St. Joseph, they made the decision to transport her to St. Francis in Peoria for further testing. They found that Caitlin had a blockage in a central vein in her brain that was causing her symptoms. She had surgery the evening of April 23rd to alleviate the blockage.

The day after surgery, doctors informed Matt that the spinal fluid in her brain was not draining off as it should be and causing swelling and pressure. A second surgery was performed on April 24 to put a tube into the impacted part of her brain in order to drain off the excess fluid and hopefully reduce the swelling.

A CT scan done the night following her second surgery showed signs of reduced swelling. Doctors plan to schedule another round of scans and tests to check the status of where the clotting was occurring.

At the time this fundraiser was posted, doctors are feeling positive about her current progress. She was able to respond to questions with movement, but she still has constant assessments and imaging ahead and a long road to recovery.

Matt and his family have only asked for your prayers. As he stated in his Facebook post, Please don’t stop praying. We need all the urgency and power of each and every prayer...Your prayers are like oxygen through the entirety of this journey for Caitlin and my family.

However, members of Caitlin’s and Matt’s small group wanted to provide an avenue for those who are interested in supporting the Wilcox family financially. These funds will be given directly to  Matt, Caitlin, and their young boys to assist with medical expenses not covered by insurance and incidental expenses required during an extended hospital stay (gas, food, etc.).
