Hi, my name is Dawn. I'm Robert's sister and Caitlin’s sister-in-law, and I’m reaching out to ask for help for their family during an incredibly difficult time.

Over the past few months, Caitlin has been experiencing severe pain in her hips and back. After numerous doctor appointments and hospital visits, she was finally referred to a neurologist. On April 17th, following that appointment, Caitlin was admitted to the hospital where doctors discovered a large tumor on her spine—one of the largest they had ever seen.

On April 23rd, Caitlin underwent a 4½-hour surgery to remove the tumor. Thankfully, the procedure was successful, but she now faces a long and challenging road to recovery.

Robert, her husband, is their family's only source of income. With Caitlin needing full-time care and support at home, Robert has had to step away from work to manage household responsibilities and care for their three children. To make matters more difficult, their application for critical illness support was denied, leaving them with little financial help during this time.

We're asking for donations to help ease the financial burden on this loving and hardworking family. Every contribution, no matter how small, will go toward household expenses, medical bills, and caring for their children while Caitlin recovers.

Update on Caitlin

Caitlin was home for just a week before she began experiencing severe pain and leaking spinal fluid. On Monday, May 12th, she saw her surgeon and was immediately sent to the hospital for emergency surgery due to a serious infection. During her hospital stay, she was also diagnosed with MRSA.

She now has a wound vac, which she’ll need for up to 6 weeks, and must return to the hospital every 2–3 days for dressing changes. This has been physically and emotionally exhausting, and it has also taken a serious financial toll on Caitlin and her family.
