Danielle Reed’s world changed in an instant when her son Cahlel was involved in a tragic car accident on Friday, June 5th. Cahlel was life-flighted to Children’s Mercy, where he underwent emergency surgery to remove a portion of his colon. The severity of his injuries means he will need to wear a halo for three months as he begins the long road to recovery.

This accident has brought unimaginable loss to Danielle’s family. Along with Cahlel’s injuries, Danielle also lost her beloved grandma and uncle in the same accident. Danielle lives in Virginia but is originally from Great Bend, Kansas, and had to travel many miles to be by Cahlel’s side, facing both emotional and financial challenges every step of the way.

The emotional and financial toll of Cahlel’s accident is immense, with medical expenses, travel costs, meals, and other needs quickly adding up. Danielle is doing everything she can to support Cahlel, but the challenges are overwhelming.
