Support for Buster Wilcox Medical Bills

Buster Wilcox (43), suffered a tragic accident Saturday, September 7th, at a team roping event in Stanley, NM when his horse fell and rolled over on him. He sustained a traumatic brain injury, and brain bleed, along with multiple fractures in his neck, face, ribs, and skull. He had to be airlifted to the hospital in critical condition and has remained on life support in the ICU at UNMH under the care of specialists who have done everything they can to assess the damage and try to save his life.

Shawna and the rest of the Wilcox family have remained by Buster's side under constant visual, praying for a miracle. Life will never be the same for any of them. God has other plans for Buster. He has selflessly chosen to donate his organs and there are now three families that will be receiving lifesaving organ donations tonight, along with countless others who may be saved from the research that will be done on a new drug that prevents opioid addiction.

If you knew Buster, then you certainly knew his rugged, tough cowboy, funny, ornery personality. When he met Shawna, he recognized the exact same qualities in her. He knew, that first day, that she was his forever. They were supposed to have many decades of love, laughter, and giving each other hell ahead of them. No one could have ever predicted how everything would tragically change in an instant.

On top of these horrific circumstances, Buster did not have any health insurance and the bills are going to be massive. Along with your prayers and support for the family, if you are able, please consider donating to help his wife Shawna cover some of these bills. She is suffering immensely and it breaks my heart to think that things could get even worse for her with the addition of such horrendous debt and no one to help her work her way through it. The 25K I've set for the goal of this fundraiser is only going to cover a small portion of the medical debt, but I wasn't quite sure what to put. No donation is too small, and if you can't donate money, please consider other ways in which you can support Shawna and the entire Wilcox Family as they sure do need it.
