Support for Buffy’s Cancer Battle

Hello all! Sorry for the delay in updates, but due to technical difficulties, moving forward this will be where we continue to update on Buffy’s condition and progress.

At the last update on November 3rd, Scott was trying to get Buffy transferred to Mayo Clinic Hospital so doctors could pinpoint the source of her cancer and stop it. After a brief delay, Buffy was admitted to Mayo on November 7th. She spent several weeks there, where doctors discovered that, in addition to the rare condition of antibodies attacking her cerebellum, she also has a very rare and aggressive form of cancer called Mullerian Cancer—a uterine cancer, found in her lymph nodes. Before leaving Mayo Clinic, Buffy began the first of six rounds of chemotherapy. Currently, she is in a rehab facility, working hard to regain some strength.

Scott and Jake continue to spend all their free time with Buffy, but the financial pressure is mounting. Hospital bills are arriving, and with only one income to rely on, the burden is overwhelming. The generous donations from the previous fundraiser were deeply appreciated, but Buffy and her family could really use extra financial help right now. Chemo treatments must be paid for before each session, and once she leaves rehab, she’ll need ongoing physical and speech therapies to help her adjust to her new normal. Buffy's COBRA insurance has run out, and Scott is now paying for her coverage out of pocket, which is significantly more expensive.

The question I hear most often is, “What can I do to help?” Honestly, if you can donate anything to ease their financial burden, it would mean the world to Buffy and her family. If you can’t donate, please share this fundraiser to help spread the word. Every bit of support counts, and together we can help Buffy and her family through this incredibly difficult time.
