Support for Buffalo's Heart Attack Survivor

Donation protected
I’m reaching out because I’m in serious need of help. Last year was one where I found the rug pulled out from under me when I relocated to Buffalo and was let go from my remote job working in Ecommerce. I struggled to find a replacement position with no luck, which caused a major change for me and my pups. The local jobs I found paid a lot less than I was accustomed to while I lived in South Florida. And I continued my search in the field of work I’ve been in since 2006.

Recently, in February I experienced and survived my first heart attack. I had what’s called a Windowmaker, my heart is only functioning at 35%. My doctors told me I was lucky to have called EMT’s when I did. A week after being released I started having another heart attack, which was averted after taking nitroglycerin pills that were prescribed. I’m told it will take a full year before my heart is back in normal functioning ranges.

At the same time, I’ve been walking around with a hernia for quite awhile. I just figured it was some type of muscle acting up due to the motorcycle accidents I had in 2011 and the recent one a few years ago when I lived in West Palm Beach. The irony of it, I was planning on walking into an emergency room to have it fixed since the pain was growing more intense daily. But that plan changed due to the heart attack.

Now I’m in a place where my surgeon informed me he can’t operate on the hernia while I’m on blood thinners for the heart attack. I have to deal with the pain until those blood thinners are no longer required to treat my heart attack. That’s going to be another 9 months.

An added bonus, my cardiologist restricted me from doing any type of physical work, which means I have to find work online, which I’ve been seeking for awhile.

I’ve not been able to apply for DSS/Snap benefits due to another issue I’ve dealt with. That has now been submitted.

Because I’ve not been able to pay rent I have to move at the end of May. My internet access has been shut off, I have to walk a mile to use wifi at the local McDonald’s. I have no money, I have no food. I’m currently on the waiting list for a subsidized apt in a building that is age and income restricted, I’ve not been given an estimate of when I can move in there. I’m still searching for housing and it’s not easy finding a place that has a program that will allow me to get back on my feet.

I need your help, anything you may be able to contribute. I am looking for another job I can work in person and believe I’ll be able to find one that doesn’t require me to do any physical lifting. I also need to turn my phone back on after it being shut off for months because I couldn’t afford it.

If you’re able to help me while facing all of these challenges I’d appreciate anything you can spare to help. Thank you.
