They found Brutis, her first baby, around 4, unresponsive and surrounded by sick, rushed him to the vet, where they fought to save him. After a rough four hours, a little after 8, they made the heart-wrenching decision to let him rest, trusting it was the kindest choice.

The resulting bill of 1,200 for his extensive care and cremation has brought an added weight, one they shouldn't face alone and one that has added an unexpected strain in an already hard time.
