Support for Brittany Eisenberger
Nov 2018 Update: Brittany's brain tumor has grown considerably in the last few months, causing her to lose vision in her left eye, along with other issues. Doctors say she will need a miracle to make it through the holidays, but we are hopeful she will overcome this. If able, please help this family. Donations will go towards the cost of care and medication.
Brittany's Story:
"I was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), a blood disorder in which bone marrow does not produce enough healthy blood cells, in April of 2013. I underwent various forms of treatment with no success. In May of 2016, after unsuccessful treatments, the disease progressed to AML (acute myeloid leukemia.)
Thus far, no chemotherapy treatment plans have had any success. Under the care of physicians from LGH, Johns Hopkins, and the Dana Farber Clinic at Harvard University, I am currently undergoing a new series of chemotherapy treatment.
Between oncology appointments, a multitude of treatments and medical procedures, and a family life, I have struggled to maintain a “normal life” balance. All of the treatment plans are incredibly costly, and while my family and I have tried to manage the costs privately to make this easier for our children and keep their lives as unaffected as possible, it has become much more than we are able to handle without the support of friends and family.
We hope that everyone understands and appreciates our need to maintain a somewhat distant or secluded lifestyle at this point, as it is vital in preventing the spread of germs and infection in our household.
We thank everyone for their kindness, support, thoughts, and prayers. The support which we have received has far exceeded any expectation that we ever could have had. It is all appreciated much more than we will ever be able to express."
In August 2018, Brittany was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, on top of Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
