Help Support Brittany & Darcy After the Loss of Justin
It is with a heavy heart that we share the tragic loss of Justin Owens. Justin passed away suddenly in his home, leaving behind his wife, Brittany Engesser-Owens, and their two-year-old son, Darcy. His death was the result of a heartbreaking suicide, a reality that has left his family and all who knew him in shock and deep sorrow.
For those of you that don’t know me, you probably know my husband Bryan. Bryan and Justin, and so many of you reading this, have grown together over the years. I was lucky enough to become close to Justin over the last 13 years. As many of you said, he truly broke the mold. He had the most charismatic personality and contagious laugh and smile. The constant comment I hear most is how much everyone will miss his bear hugs, and I couldn’t agree more. Justin really knew how to pack in the good times. He was always down to hang out, help a friend with a project, engulf himself in learning something new, and whatever and wherever he was, it was guaranteed you were going to laugh until your stomach hurt. Once Darcy was born, it was as if a new light ignited within Justin—a light so bright, it consumed him entirely. It hurts my heart we won’t get to see Justin grow old with Darcy, build bikes, race enduros, trail ride—whatever the flavor of the week was. But, it also warms my heart to know Darcy will have us. We can show him the things we did with his dad, tell him all the stories (when he’s old enough of course), and remind him how much his Daddy loved him.
In this difficult time, we are reaching out to ask for your support to help ease some of the burdens that come with such a profound loss. Brittany is now facing the unimaginable task of navigating life without her soulmate. The world keeps spinning, and as Britt deals with a whirlwind of emotions, she will need help with the reality of funeral costs, bills, and most importantly, support to provide them with some stability as they begin to rebuild their lives in the wake of this tragedy. No one should have to go through such a painful loss alone. Let us ease the burden financially and let Britt and Darcy lean on us. Do what Justin would do. Help. Donate. Share. Show up for him by supporting the two that meant the most to him. By contributing, you’re not only providing financial assistance but also offering emotional support to a family in need. Every dollar, every share, and every kind word will make a difference as Brittany and Darcy begin to navigate this difficult road ahead.
How Your Donations Will Help:
• Funeral Expenses
• Living Expenses
• Counseling and Emotional Support
• Childcare and Education
We understand that times are hard for many, especially this time of year, but any amount you can donate will make a huge impact. If you’re unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing this campaign with your friends and family to help us reach as many people as possible. As Brittany said, share your favorite memory of him, a funny story, a photo, whatever. It helps her to see the photos and share the stories, and if Justin is looking down on us, let’s flood him with the love we all have for him.
Thank you for your love, kindness, and support during this unimaginable time. Your generosity will help bring some light to this dark moment and ease a bit of pain and burden for all of us.
Celebration of life will be held 1/11 at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St, Toms River, NJ. Time TBD.
