Our teammate and great friend, Britt O'Brien, sustained a severe spinal injury during an annual end-of-the-summer celebration with teammates and friends south of Atlanta this past weekend.

 

He was airlifted to Atlanta's Grady Hospital, where trauma specialists and Neurosurgeons began working to stabilize him and begin the steps for the long recovery that will follow.  At this point, Britt had no feeling or movement below his shoulders.  However, with the courage and strength that this man possesses, he looked at the surgeons as they were wheeling him to his first surgery and said, "let's go do this". After this surgery, there is some good news, but this is a life-changing event for Britt and his family.

 

Britt is genuinely an incredible man.  He can connect with anyone and everyone in the room.  This man goes through good times and bad times with a big smile on his face and loves to bring happiness to those around him. In addition, Britt is a man of adventure and loves the outdoors, where he is always looking for something new and exciting.

 

Britt and his family need help.  It is time for those who know and love Britt and his family to provide support and help as this recovery journey begins.  Our goal is to raise at least $25,000 to help them.  We can all do this quickly; we have to remember that Britt would do this for us in a second and with a big smile!
