Doug and Chris along with their family are facing an incredibly difficult time. Their daughter, Brielle was recently diagnosed with leukemia. Since the diagnosis, Chris and Doug have been traveling back and forth from California to Virginia to be by Brielle’s side, all while trying to keep up with their jobs and responsibilities at home. Brielle has been so ill that she hasn’t been able to work, and the emotional and physical toll on the family has been immense.

The financial strain has become overwhelming. Chris and her husband do not have the option to work remotely, so they must take turns being with Brielle and returning home to work. They have used up all their paid time off and sick leave, and the costs of travel and medical care not covered by insurance are mounting quickly. Despite their best efforts, they simply cannot keep up with the expenses on their own.
