Earlier this year, my dear friend Bridgett Gorospe and her family experienced a heartbreaking loss when they lost their dad, Mike LaRoque, on April 16, 2025. Just two weeks later, their mom, Char, was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. After a lifetime together, her health declined rapidly—what many would describe as a broken heart following the loss of her husband. Over the months that followed, she endured several hospital stays as doctors worked to support her. Her final hospitalization was the longest, and it is where Char passed peacefully on Christmas Day, just eight months after her husband.

While there is comfort in knowing her pain has ended and that she is reunited with the love of her life, the emotional and financial toll of losing both parents in such a short time has been overwhelming. Medical bills, end-of-life expenses, and remaining costs have added up quickly. This GoFundMe is meant to help ease that burden and give Bridgett and her family the space to grieve without the added stress of immediate financial pressure.
