My cousin, Brian, has autism. Though Brian has special needs, he is smart and quite independent. He is a giant teddy bear, even when people are not so kind to him. Anyone familiar with autism knows that it is difficult for some autistic individuals when it comes to changes. They do better with stability and familiarity.

Brian has lost most of his close loved ones. He literally witnessed three close family members pass away, including his father. Having gone through so much change and loss in a short amount of time, he should not have to suffer losing his home on top of all of this, but this is the possibility he is currently facing.

Brian’s aunt left a home for him over 20 years ago. His family thought they had everything secured, but his stepmother took advantage of all their illnesses, their deaths, and now, the law. She has plans to sell Brian's home as part of his father's probate. There were three properties in total; she lives in one, her relative owns another; but Brian literally has to pay his stepmother to stay in a home that is already supposed to be his.

Brian needs to keep his home. He knows his area, and the neighbors know and look out for him. The uncertainty of his home has been a hindrance and further burden to his progress and care. He needs an attorney to represent him. Attorneys are not cheap and will not take his case on contingency. He also has other costs/needs.
