Brian Warren is not just a friend—he’s a fellow St. Jude parent who has walked a difficult road alongside me. Recently, Brian and his family experienced an unimaginable loss when their beloved Jake passed away on March 18th, surrounded by love. Brian’s strength in sharing Jake’s story has touched so many of us, and his words remind us that Jake did not “lose” to cancer—he beat it by leaving it behind forever.
As friends and fellow parents, we are all asking how we can help. The reality is that no parent should ever have to face the burden of final expenses for their child, nor be forced to return to work immediately after such a loss. When Brian changed jobs, the children’s life insurance policy was lost, and replacing it for Jake became impossible. Now, more than ever, Brian’s family needs our support to cover these final expenses and give them the time and space to grieve without added financial stress.
I am reaching out not only as Brian’s friend, but as a parent whose own child is fighting aggressive brain cancer. Though our journeys are different, the pain and hope we share unite us. If you feel moved to help, any contribution—no matter the amount—will make a real difference for Brian’s family. Please consider donating and sharing this fundraiser with others who may want to support them during this heartbreaking time. Your kindness and generosity mean more than words can express.
