Hi, everyone. We are fundraising for our brother Brian. He’s a loving son, father of seven, brother of seven & Grandpa to eight. At only 49 he had to have a triple bypass this past Wednesday. It was a shock and surprise to all of his family. What was supposed to be a routine stent turned into this. Brian is a small business owner, Ironman gutters. He’s such a hard worker, been doing this since he’s 18. Brian’s is used to be up on roofs every day working hard! He will be unable to do this line of work given his prognosis. Of course he will be able to maintain the business from the ground (no more climbing those roofs) But not for at least three- six months. He will be on life saving medication for the rest of his life. But he is alive and for that we are so thankful! To all the staff & Doctors that saved his life Thank you! To all who prayed & sat at his bedside. We love you all and are just so grateful! He’s been there for all of his many siblings, nieces, nephews & of course his true loves his KIDS. Brian is not one to have anyone fuss over him, but now it’s our turn to help him! Every little bit will help him get back on his feet. So thank you to you ALL!
Medical information: Heres what happened this past week…..he had to have a triple bypass. His heart doctor believed he had a clogged artery. They believed it would be a simple procedure. Once the doctor was in there realized he would need three-four stents. His surgeon was able to do the three that day and would need a fourth the following day. On Friday they went back in for the fourth stent couldn’t finish because all of the stents he put in the day before collapsed. Was told they couldn’t repair this level of blockage at the hospital he was in. They transported him that day to Robert Wood Johnson. Upon further testing we quickly realized his heart was in worse shape then we thought. He was only using 10% of his heart and was in a fib. Part of his heart was limp & not contracting. The goal was to bring back blood flow to that portion of the heart to revitalize it. Using another artery from his chest to do that. The only option was to do a triple bypass. He had the surgery on Wednesday. Thank god it was successful! They were able to restore about 30% of his heart. Doctor said he will never be back up to 60% where he needs to be. The most we can hope for is that eventually with medication he will regain 40% of his heart function. His sternum was wired and screwed shut with a metal plate. Hopefully he will be released from the hospital this week. They say it’s a long recovery 3-6 months. We will keep you all posted on his recovery from this major surgery. ❤️
