Support for Brian Dusza

We are looking to offer some special support to one of our personal heroes, Brian Dusza. Brian turned 55 in December and from day 1, born with Spina Bifida, has faced numerous challenges and surgeries throughout his life. He began working in Records at Downers Grove Police Department at age 17 and is still working there today. In all of that time and all that we have seen him go through, he has never complained, never felt sorry for himself and always remained committed to his job and those he works with. Our admiration for his positive attitude in all that he has faced, all of which he has conquered is amazing to us. We are not sure if those we know could do the same. He has continued throughout to live a full life and make the best of every new challenge. This is what makes him our hero. He would never think of himself in those terms. His heroes are his wife who is always there for him & made so much more possible for him. His mom and dad have been there for him to do everything they could to give him the support and care he needed to live a normal life. All of which, including his personal determination to make the most of life, has allowed Brian to enjoy a full life that includes his passion for sports, music and his many friends. All the while being one of the absolute worst Fantasy Football owner’s ever!!!! (Sorry Brian….win something and prove me wrong)

Every few years of his life has included issues related to Spina Bifida that has required surgery. 2021 was one of those years. Right before Christmas, Brian dealt with two back to back surgeries that were very complicated. His recovery will take some time and we have been looking for something to do to give back to all Brian has taught us through the example of his life and attitude. We would like to provide Brian and Kim some relief from worry and stress from medical expenses. Anyone who has gone through major and ongoing medical issues knows that deductibles, out of pocket and copays can add up fast. In addition, Brian may be in a position on disability for a period of time where he is only receiving 50% of his pay. We are asking for anyone able to assist in offsetting these expenses, assist us in providing support to a very deserving person. We will always feel fortunate to have him in our life and call him our friend and hero.
