Support for Brent Dawson - Clayton’s Bocce Grooming Expert

For anybody who has ever played bocce over at Skipolini‘s in Clayton, we all know that our courts are some of the most pristine in the area. Probably the largest reason for that is Brent Dawson, the caretaker and manager of our courts. As many of you know, Brent recently passed due to tongue cancer.

We would all see Brent out there daily, til the end, braving all elements, just to get the courts ready every night. I know that I am biased, but I play on courts all throughout the Bay Area and these are the most well maintained that I have ever played on. At the moment, it is taking a team of four of us to fill the shoes of just Brent.

As you might imagine, times like this are very difficult for the family and expenses can be tough. Brent worked really hard all of the time to give back to the spirit of the city and I’m asking that the city and anybody else who happens to see this, please give what you can for somebody who gave us so much. And for those outside of Clayton, I imagine you all have a Brent. And when someone like him who selflessly gives so much for others passes just as ours did, it touches the entire city.

Please also note that there will be a celebration of life on Saturday, May 10 at the bocce courts in Brent‘s honor.
