Brendon Borrego and Chanlee Harvey purchased their dream home in Cold Springs in February this year and are scheduled to be married on September 12th. Brendon’s birthday is August 10th, and Chanlee’s is August 11th. All this to say, it has been a good year for this young couple.

However, this afternoon, August 9th, Brendon and Chanlee stood by as the wind whipped the Bug Fire down the canyon near their home and burned their home, garage, barn, and chicken coop to the ground in just a quick couple of hours.

Thankfully, they had evacuated their 25 chickens, 3 goats, 2 dogs, and 1 cat the day prior, so all living things are safe, but Brendon and Chanlee have lost everything except a weekend’s worth of clothing and their cars.
