Support for Brandon High School Robotics Team

Donation protected
April 13, 2023 Update: The Truck Town Thunder robotics team would like to thank all of the generous sponsors who have donated to our GoFundMe, and those who have donated externally. We are excited and proud to announce that WE HAVE QUALIFIED FOR THE FIRST CHAMPIONSHIP! We are in the final push of our fundraising drive and will be leaving early next week to travel to Houston Texas. We appreciate your consideration in donating to our help offset our travel expenses. We are looking forward to competing with 600 other robotics teams from around the world, but most importantly, creating new memories and new friendships. Thank you!

The Brandon High School robotics team, Truck Town Thunder, has been competing in the worldwide FIRST Robotics Competition since 1998. The team was started in the GM Truck & Bus Plant in Pontiac, but moved to Brandon High School in Ortonville Michigan in 2010. The team has a long history of success and hands on STEM education.

Our team has had many ups and downs through the past few years of COVID, but 2023 has been promising as the team won its first competition at Kettering University on March 11th, and placed in the top 10 at the Troy competition which completed on March 27th. With these two proud performances, the students have qualified for the Michigan State Championships at Saginaw Valley State University on April 6th, and are projected to qualify for the FIRST Championship in Houston beginning on April 20th.

We are grateful for the support of Brandon High School and the use of the school facilities. Beyond facilities, the majority of our team funding comes from community support, corporate support and student fees. We are grateful for those sponsors that have supported us thus far; your contributions have allowed us to exceed even our own expectations this season.

Our team does not have enough money to travel to the two upcoming Championship events. We are asking for your support to help us cover travel costs including hotel, and transportation, and to help offset the cost of meals for our team of 25 Brandon High School students, college and adult mentors.

Our students have created a video highlighting our success at Kettering a few weeks ago. Feel free to watch and learn more about what FIRST Robotics is all about.

Thank you for considering donating to our team.
