On the morning of December 20th, at approximately 6:00 a.m., Bobby awoke to his home filled with smoke. Acting quickly, he rushed to the living room and rescued his 7-year-old son, Ryder, who was sleeping on the couch.
By that point, the smoke was so thick that Bobby could not see the exit. After running into furniture and finding a wall, he felt his way through the room until he reached the front door. Once outside, he brought Ryder to safety and then bravely rushed back inside to try to save the family dog, Mia. Thankfully, Mia survived, but their beloved hamster, Henry, sadly did not.
At the time of the fire, Bobby’s wife, Holly, and their 17-year-old son, Drake, were not home. Drake has been courageously battling leukemia for several years. Holly and Drake have been staying at the Ronald McDonald House in California while Drake continues receiving life-saving treatment at Stanford Medical Center.
While it is a blessing that no human lives were lost, the fire destroyed Bobby and his family’s home and all of their belongings. They are now facing the overwhelming challenge of starting over from nothing, all while continuing to support Drake through his medical journey.
We are asking for help to support Bobby, Holly, and their three sons as they work to rebuild their lives. Donations will go toward immediate necessities such as housing, clothing, food, transportation, and replacing essential belongings, as well as ongoing expenses during this incredibly difficult time.
Any donation, share, or prayer means more than words can express. Thank you for helping this family during one of the hardest moments of their lives.
