My fiancé was diagnosed with stage three colon cancer two years ago, right as we were expecting our first child. After the first rounds of chemotherapy, things looked promising—he regained his strength and was able to start working again. But in March of 2026, we received devastating news: his cancer had progressed to Stage 4, and doctors told us he might not make it to see his 25th birthday. We are now preparing for more chemotherapy, hoping to prolong his life. Through it all, we have faith in God and know we are loved, trusting that he has the final say. We are navigating the challenges of being first-time parents to our now one-year-old, while fighting an illness that wants to win.

Because he needs to return to chemotherapy, he can’t work as much—or maybe not at all—depending on how he’s affected by the 12 rounds of treatment ahead. He’s already had procedures that caused him to miss a lot of work, and have fallen behind. We aren’t giving up and want to try some of the out of state treatments and help that hopefully saves his life but the cost aren’t covered by Medicaid. To make matters worse, our car was recently stolen and burned by juveniles, leaving us without reliable transportation. This loss is especially hard with so many appointments for Bijan and our baby.
