Hi all,
Never have I[we] ever had to crowdfund for medical emergencies, but at this point I don't have much to lose, so here goes. Our beloved boy Bert has suddenly become extremely ill, and unfortunately he has been in and out of his primary vet and the emergency vet over the last week.
My partner and I adopted Bert several years ago, and he is honestly the dreamiest cat you could ever meet. He doesn't have a bad bone in his body, and he's quickly bonded to the kitten we adopted last fall, Clementine. I realize we are biased, but honestly, ask anyone who has ever met him...He really is the goodest boy.
As an adult, I'm currently a three-quarter time student (in my most difficult semester yet), and I'm not able to work full time at my already low-wage job. My income is less than $500/monthly, and Bert's medical care in just the last 5 days was over $1500. We left the ER tonight faced with a pretty grave decision. We can bring him back for more testing to get a proper diagnosis and potentially treat him with an in-depth knowledge of what's wrong, or we can try to "make him comfortable." They estimated another $2400 to fully diagnose him. If it ends up being bad news, funds can go towards crossing the rainbow bridge.
If you have anything to spare, even just a dollar, anything helps. Bert deserves the TLC and we're forever grateful for anything you might be able to spare. thank you.
