Dearest Friends of Myra Cisse,
We are saddened and heartbroken to let you know that our beloved sister, Myra passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020.
She lived a life full of laughter and joy. She enjoyed salsa dancing, was an avid reader and loved being connected with family and friends. Her vibrant personality and zest for life will be missed by everyone who made her acquaintance.
Myra was preceded in death by our parents, Woodrow and Georgia Smith. She leaves a daughter, Bianca Nicole Cisse, her sister, Jackie Smalls and brother Ken Smith.
Myra grew up in Beaufort, SC specifically in the Mossy Oaks neighborhood and graduated from Beaufort High School in 1987. Myra went on to attend the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC and obtained a BS in Finance in 1990. Upon graduation, Myra entered into the banking industry and built a 20-year career in the field. After finishing her MBA in Finance and International Business from Georgia State University, Myra began her journey into entrepreneurship.
We understand that many of Myra's friends and colleagues want to support Bianca after this unexpected loss. We have established this gofundme campaign to provide a mechanism to aid in Bianca’s care and address any outstanding medical expenses.

On behalf of GCA, Richard Brooks, Pamela Harris, Linda Goetze, Herman Kitt and myself, Abraham Xiong, we are surprised and in sorrow by Myra’s passing. Myra was our friend, business partner, and warrior in entrepreneurship.
Myra was a champion for the small business community and for so many of us. Her life and professional career leave a legacy of impact, hope and promises for entrepreneurs throughout the world. She empowered thousands of companies through her passion to support entrepreneurs in their journey of learning about government contracting, certifications for small businesses, and accessing the opportunities with supplier diversity programs.
Myra started her business, Certification Consultants, LLC, as a way to help small businesses obtain certifications. In 2015, she became partners at Government Contractors Association (GCA) to further the vision of enabling even more companies to access the billions of dollars of government contracts. Through Myra’s work, many of the companies which she helped to get certified into the 8a Program, WOSB, SDVOSB, HUBZone, MBE, WBE, and other certification programs are now thriving and growing businesses. Some of them are winning millions in government contracts.
Also, Myra co-founded the Blockchain Chamber of Commerce (BCC) to help usher blockchain and cryptocurrency technologies to the world. Through Myra’s collective work at GCA and BCC, over 10,000 entrepreneurs have been trained and most importantly, businesses have won more than $900 million in government contracts. She traveled around the globe leading trade mission trips from the US to South Korea. She supported international companies in their expansions. More notably, she was a voice for the small business community and a bridge between government agencies and small businesses.
Myra left us too soon, but she left a legacy of impact. In her final words, she said to tell everyone that "She loves us very much."
