Support for Ben's Chemotherapy Treatments

In early November 2019 my brother Ben Delaney checked himself into the hospital with stomach pains and nausea / fatigue. Traditional treatments to fight a stomach infection were not working and his blood counts were irregular.  The words "Cancer" and "Leukemia" were tossed around and after a few days of testing we got confirmation that he did in fact have a form of Leukemia called Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL). https://rarediseases.info.nih.gov/diseases/538/acute-promyelocytic-leukemia

He was transferred to a wonderful cancer center in Tampa FL where he was given great care and treatment was started early. He stayed there for almost 4 weeks and received positive prognosis from all of his doctors. His young age and health, the fact that his cancer was found early and his strength and stubbornness were all factors to give us good hope for his recovery.  But.. there is still a long road to recovery and eliminating cancer.

Ben is currently at home but will continue chemotherapy treatments on a month on- month off cycle for the next 8 months. While he is receiving the treatments, going to work will be hard because he will not feel well. During the months off chemo, working will still be hit or miss depending on how he is feeling and what  he is able to do.  Ben works as a car salesman and creating a steady income is also hit and miss sometimes and has its ups and downs.. those ups and downs combined with his own personal ups and downs with his wellness do not create an ideal environment to be able to rely on income that he has depended on to support his family.

Ben is blessed to have insurance and a job that is willing to work with him as much as possible. But each day of chemotherapy is $65 out of pocket paid up front or no treatment that day. He will need 20 days of chemo a month for 4 out of the next 8 months . Thats 80 days X $65 = $5200.  If we could pull together even a part of that, it would b e a major relief during a hard time.

I've never been one to ask for help and I know Ben is more stubborn than I am. But if there has ever been a time to ask , this is a humble time for all of us. I know Ben has many friends, some of you I have met and some I've heard about. I know we have a wide network of family as well. I'm posting this goFundme with the hopes that we can help Ben out and give him one less thing to worry about so that he can focus on his health and mind. Please help with what you can and if it's not money, then prayers are always welcome.

Thanks so Much.
Love you all,
Bens Big Bro Colby
