Support For Beirut - Matching 1-1

The massive explosion that devastated Beirut on Tuesday took hundreds of lives, injured thousands, destroyed homes and left hundreds of thousands homeless. Facing a corrupt and impotent government, the Lebanese civil society, already facing the Covid-19 pandemic and weighed down by a crippled economy, is rallying together to heal the wounded, support the displaced and rebuild their country. As a Lebanese expat living in Germany, I want to help. I am launching this matching fund while researching the most impactful organizations to donate to. If you’d like to contribute to the relief efforts, please give here and I will match and distribute the funds. Every little bit helps and I will be matching the first €5,000 of donations to maximize the impact. I will keep you informed on where the donations end up going to, as I research the groups on the ground based on the following criteria (non-governmental, non-profit, transparent fund deployment, impact and need). Currently, the candidates include: - Lebanese Red Cross  - Beit El Baraka: Non-profit helping families with basic needs.  - Arc En Ciel: Non-profit which supports Lebanon's most underprivileged and marginalized communities.  - Lebanese Food Bank Association: Food supplies to displaced families
