My heart is absolutely broken today for a family that has just experienced an unimaginable loss. I had the privilege of knowing Pete and his wife Becca, and Pete was truly a good man and a devoted father. Yesterday, at just 55 years old, Pete suddenly passed away from a heart attack. I can’t stop thinking about Becca and their two young children. Pete was the sole provider for his family while Becca stayed home caring for their kids, including their 8-year-old son who is currently battling lymphoblastic leukemia — cancer of the blood.

On top of the heartbreak they’re experiencing, they now have to face the reality that there is no life insurance, no coverage for their son’s ongoing medical expenses, and no financial support for funeral costs or daily living expenses. No family should ever have to walk through this kind of pain and financial stress at the same time. I started this fundraiser because I simply couldn’t sit back and do nothing. My hope is that we can come together as a community to help lift some of the financial burden off their shoulders so they can focus on grieving, healing, and caring for their children.
