On April 10th, 2025 my beloved mother, grandmother to my son, passed away in a suburban skilled nursing facility from severe complications associated with sepsis. This devastating disease was brought on from an ulceratic bedsore inflicted upon her by a large local hospital and a nursing home (directly associated with this hospital, for decades). I have the initial CT scan - all lab reports... death certificate and all medical records available at this time. Including heartbreaking photos- the validation for this terrible tragedy is very evident. My mother, Barbara Ann, was a beautiful, beloved lady who dedicated her life to the service of others. Besides filling the position of a safety deposit box company manager for a large local community bank, She was most proud of the many years she volunteered as a *teachers assistant* at a public elementary school during her retirement. A school only hundreds of feet from our home. Barbara spent most of her volunteer time primarily in classrooms of the second grade where the children adored her.

Unfortunately, the last 15+ months have been lost trying to ensure that a proper medical malpractice complaint (against that hospital + the liable nursing home) was initiated correctly.

Those to be held legally responsible for the excessive pain and suffering that resulted in her death. We were deceived by doctors. Then shockingly by lawyers.

The very narcissistic lawyer that was retained (this information is proven + can be discussed if anyone is interested by reaching out to me at: (*[email redacted]*) - went as far as using a fraudulent *Medical Consultant. This consultant is required in Illinois for malpractice litigation. Their responsibility is very direct. To file a 'Affidavit of Merit' for the plaintiff (me). The lawsuit then progresses forward. This never occurred as was promised and documented by me.

The lawfirm used this medical consultant, unknown to me, and unapproved by me.

This info was concealed from legal transparency as well. From November-December 2025, emails proved deception was very evident.

This incapable consultant, lacking moral and legal integrity, actually worked for the hospital's ER department. His multiple residency years were discovered online. An unbelievable and obvious- *Conflict Of Interest*.

Hurtful, and shattering the legal and moral standards in malpractice law. The lawfirm knew of this, openly. They attempted deception once again, over and over. To cover it up from me. They simply navigate each day with no integrity, morality, or empathy.

Now, with well over a year lost, and the statute of limitations quickly running out for any malpractice litigation to 'restart'. My son + I are in utter disbelief. Forced to search out new medical malpractice attorneys. In hopes to find someone honorable and just. Is this even possible in 2026?

A new lawfirm in which we will have to pay for a large retainer. Getting justice for my mother, Barbara will happen - no matter what!

The money that would have been collected, from a judicial decision or proposed settlement, was to go towards standard upkeep, and ongoing maintenance of her vintage family home here in Chicago. The spiraling property taxes and homeowners insurance premiums for Cook County, Illinois have crippled all of us in our beloved community.

This wonderful home, where our small surviving family still resides, was purchased in 1967 along with her late husband. Its was to be their legacy.

A very special and commemorative memorial, was nearly created for my late mother but now can not be completed because of this treachery and its rising costs. Most importantly, the local elementary school - where our family intends to create graduation scholarships based on the empathy of volunteerism stands idle and cannot be started in her name and honor as well. The school she loved so much.

The horrific events that happened to this beautiful, and loving human being (born in 1939) could easily have been avoided. The hospital, and the initial nursing home both made management- conscious choices...to conceal and place their corrupted 'failure to inform + failure to treat' policies for ulceratic bedsores upon an unexpecting elderly woman and her family. Shame on all involved.

I hope there is still kindness in the hearts and minds of a few.
