UPDATED:  My brother-in-law, Derek Banks, spent 3.5 months fighting for his life after getting sick. He passed away with his family by his side on January 9.  Derek was amazing husband and dad. His wife, Brandie, and three daughters were his world. They were always together and such a close knit family.

 From my sister-in-law, Brandie:

January 9, 2022 we lost the most amazing man. Derek was the very best Husband and Father. To know Derek was to love Derek. He would do anything for anyone. He was so very smart and so talented. Derek loved BIG. The girls and I were his whole world. He loved being a Dad and would do anything for his girls. We miss him more than I could ever express, but we are so happy to know that Derek is in the arms of the Lord and no longer suffering.
