Bakari, our dear friend, suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm on December 1, 2025. He was rushed to Kaiser in Sacramento, where he underwent a coiling procedure the next day to stop the bleeding. Thankfully, the procedure was successful, but Bakari remains in the ICU in critical but stable condition. The doctors have explained that days 6-15 are the most crucial, as they monitor for vasospasms and complications from surgery. As of today, we are on day 7, and every moment is filled with hope and uncertainty. Bakari's future prognosis and hospital length of stay are unknown as of now.
Bakari's wife, Dina, and their daughter, Adrianna, are taking things day by day, minute by minute, as they stay by his side and support him through this incredibly difficult time. The emotional and financial toll is significant, with living and travel expenses quickly adding up as the family remains close to the hospital. Your support will help ease some of these burdens, allowing Dina, Adrianna, and the family to focus on Bakari's recovery without the added stress of financial worries.
We are asking for continued prayers and hope for Bakari's recovery. If you would like to reach out or receive updates, please contact Ricki Ackman-Spearman or Kim Takara-Lancaster, as Dina has limited accessibility while she is in the hospital room daily. Any help you can provide—whether through donations, prayers, or sharing this fundraiser—means the world to Bakari, Dina, Adrianna, and all of us who care about them.
Thank you so much for all the prayers and love for Bakari and his family.
