Support for Baeli's Family in Their Loss
Donation protected
On May 20, precious Baeli was born after her mother Kadence had a sudden and traumatic uterine rupture. Baeli was without oxygen for a critical amount of time and suffered a severe brain injury known as Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE).
I was in the waiting room with Baeli's dad Anthony when the doctors came out after Kadence's emergency c-section and told him that Baeli was in very critical condition. In the 38 days that have followed, Kadence, Anthony and Baeli's precious siblings have fought with everything in them to surround Baeli with overwhelming love and care, and hoping against all odds for a miracle.
Over this past month, it was an honor to watch the children sing and read books to their sister, to watch Dad whisper to his baby girl, and to watch mom wage war for her baby girl, researching and looking for any possible intervention that could help.
On June 27, the family said goodbye to Baeli. The entire family was able to take pictures outside- Baeli's first time outdoors- before saying goodbye. Then in her mother's arms, surrounded by family and love, and as Take Me To The King played, Baeli became an angel.
I have witnessed this family go through the depths of despair this past month. My hope is that this support will ease some of the financial burdens related to Baeli's 38 day stay in neonatal intensive care, work missed so that mom and dad could be at Baeli's side these past weeks and so that they have some space to grieve in the coming weeks, costs associated with counseling for the family, and funeral expenses.
Thank you for blessing this beautiful family.
