With some concerns of baby having some recurrent decelerations of heart rate, I was admitted to the antepartum unit at Overland Park Regional on January 27th and will likely be staying for continuous monitoring until baby makes his arrival. Of course, we are hoping his health does well enough to be delivered at full term naturally, however there is a chance of needing an emergency c section preterm, if he shows major distress at any point.
After a week of no work due to cold weather cancellation, Michael then had to take additional days off to navigate this situation of mine and baby's health, as well as managing a care plan for our pets and other children. With this (alongside all of the extra driving being done to commute to family members who are helping, the hospital, and work again) we are unexpectedly stretched a little thin for the month of February.
Sharing this is vulnerable, as admitting we could use help is a humbling thing to do, but we know that by sharing our current experiences with you all that you will hold and support us in the ways you can, especially with emotional support, love, and grace. That kind of support is what we ask for first and foremost, as the love of our community will hold us strong. If you are able to support financially as well, we will use that help to stay caught up on bills and being sure to have everything we need for whenever baby does arrive.
We love and appreciate all of our friends and family and are already so so very thankful for the love and strength you continue to back us with. We are especially grateful for all of the love given to the kiddos and dogs, as this is yet another big scary change disrupting their lives and we are very appreciative of all the normalcy and positivity we can give them.
