Baby was more than just a cat—she was family.

My brother rescued Baby this past November, giving her a safe and loving home after a life where she hadn’t received much care. She was estimated to be around 4 years old, unspayed, and had never seen a vet before. From the moment she came home, she was full of love and quickly became such an important part of his life.

After her spay surgery last week, Baby began to decline. At first, we thought she was recovering and just needed time and pain management, but her condition continued to worsen. We brought her to the emergency vet multiple times, doing everything we could to help her.

Today, things took a heartbreaking turn. Baby became extremely lethargic and weak. At the emergency hospital, we finally got answers no one was expecting—Baby was in severe kidney failure. The veterinarians explained that she may have had an underlying condition that no one could have known about, and despite all efforts, her prognosis was extremely poor.

The kindest and most compassionate decision was to let her go peacefully.

My brother is absolutely devastated. He gave Baby months of love, comfort, and safety—something she may have never known before—and in return, she gave him unconditional love right back.

We are asking for help to cover the unexpected emergency veterinary costs and Baby’s cremation so she can be brought home. Any support, whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this, means more than we can express.
