Love For Yusuf: In Memory of Asra & Her Mother

Dear Community,

Thank you for the flood of love, prayers, and generous offers of support following the heartbreaking loss in our Kenilworth community this past weekend. As we grieve the passing of Asra Samadi and her mother, we continue to hold baby Yusuf (just four months old) in our prayers as he receives care in the hospital and begins the journey of healing.

Since moving to Kenilworth in September, 2023, Asra and her husband, Mohammad Rashid, brought a quiet joy and deep warmth to those around them - always ready with a smile, a kind word, and open arms.

In the face of this unimaginable loss, we now have the opportunity to reflect that same love back to Mohammad, baby Yusuf, and Asra's family, standing with them in sorrow and in strength. Our hope is to surround Mohammad and little Yusuf with compassion, fortitude, and stability.

In loving memory of Asra and her mother, we have created this space to honor their journey, uplift Mohammad and Yusuf in spirit, and offer a way for friends and loved ones to walk beside them as they navigate life without their beloved.

Mohammad's family and friends want everyone to know how truly touched and comforted they have been by the immense outpouring of love. They shared that Asra's gentle spirit lives on in Yusuf, and that she would have been deeply moved to see so many hearts come together to carry her son forward with such kindness, strength, and care.
