Life can change in the blink of an eye and this was the case on September 25, 2021 for a young family and their son. Reid, an almost 3 year old boy who adores trucks, was playing in his favorite one – his Dad’s work truck when a tool he had never seen caught his attention. Being curious as most children are, Reid reached for the plumbing gadget which generated an instantaneous fire. The fire spread rapidly through the truck and before Reid could be grabbed from the flames, he sustained 3rd and 4th degree burns on the right side of his body. Reid was airlifted to VCU in Richmond, VA, where he remains. Reid has already undergone many surgeries and is being kept as comfortable as possible. Reid is expected to make a successful recovery in which everyone is thankful for. Reid has a wonderful team of Doctors and Nurses that we will forever be grateful for. As you can imagine, this recovery will be a long road.
