Support for baby Myla Kate, and the Machleit family
Donation protected
Mallory and Codey Machleit are a devoted couple and loving parents to their son, Hudson. They’re now preparing to welcome their second precious child—a beautiful baby girl named Myla Kate. However, Myla Kate’s arrival comes with some unexpected and serious medical challenges.
At 35 weeks pregnant, Mallory will need to relocate from her home to Nashville, where she and Myla Kate can receive specialized care at Vanderbilt. This move is necessary due to a rare condition involving a vascular mass on the back of Myla’s head. Upon birth, Myla will be admitted to the NICU, where her stay could range from just a few days to several months. The full extent of her treatment needs won’t be known until after she arrives.
Doctors believe she will need care from a vascular anomalies team, and possibly ear reconstruction surgery, as congenital hemangiomas typically do not respond to medication and may ultimately require surgery. The medical team is hopeful but cautious, opting to treat Myla conservatively when possible—but they remain unsure of exactly what the future holds.
As you can imagine, this journey comes with an enormous emotional and financial toll. While Mallory recovers from a C-section, the family will face the costs of temporary housing in Nashville, travel back and forth for Codey (who will continue working), daily meals, and supporting family members who are relocating to help with Hudson and the newborn. On top of that, medical bills will begin adding up quickly.
If you’re looking for a way to support the Machleit family during this time, any financial contribution—no matter how small—will make a meaningful difference. Your generosity will help lift a piece of the burden so they can focus on what matters most: bringing Myla Kate safely into the world and surrounding her with love and care.
They truly hate to ask, but they are trusting their community during this season of uncertainty. Mallory and Codey would like to thank you in advance for keeping their sweet family in your thoughts and prayers, and for the support you so generously are willing to provide. Please know that they are still in the process of gathering information and may not have all the details at this time. We promise to continue to update this page as new information becomes available.
With heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for your payers and support,
Friends of the Machleit family
