Baby Milo faced a terrifying and unexpected battle with salmonella poisoning at just three weeks old. What started as a routine day quickly turned into a nightmare as his condition worsened, and we found ourselves in a race against time. He was life-flighted to the nearest children’s hospital, where an incredible team of doctors, nurses, and pilots worked around the clock to save his life. The days that followed were filled with uncertainty, as he underwent multiple life-saving measures and spent time in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. In addition to the salmonella infection, Baby Milo went into metabolic acidosis and severe dehydration, and suffered massive weight loss caused by the way his formula was shipped to us. Watching my tiny baby fight for his life through so many complications was the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced as a parent, but I am endlessly grateful for the expertise and compassion of everyone who cared for him.
As we focus on his recovery, our family is facing significant financial challenges. The cost of the emergency helicopter flight, mounting medical bills, and the need to take time away from work to be by his side have all added up quickly. While we are so thankful that Baby Milo survived something so serious at such a young age, the reality is that we need help to manage these unexpected expenses. Every bit of support will go directly toward his care and our family’s needs during this difficult time.
We are deeply grateful for the prayers, encouragement, and kindness we’ve received from friends, family, and our community. Your support means the world to us as we help Baby Milo heal and move forward. Thank you for standing with us and for giving our little boy the chance to grow up healthy and strong.
