Supporting Baby Maverick, Mackenzie and Kyle

Hi I’m Holly, Kyle Keenen's sister and Baby Maverick's aunt who I now get to share a birthday with. Maverick James Keenen arrived on February 18th- over 12 weeks early with a fighting spirit, classified as a micro-preemie, facing a long and uncertain road ahead. But if there’s one thing we already know about this little warrior, it’s that he is strong.

Beautiful Momma, Mackenzie Lambert, is recovering well and is completely devoted to being by Mav’s side 24/7 next to his incubator for all his care. She and Kyle are navigating not only the joys and challenges of first-time parenthood but also the unimaginable reality of a lengthy NICU stay—one filled with hope, worry, and so many unknowns.

The care Maverick has received at Vanderbilt Nashville has been nothing short of extraordinary, and for that, Kenzie and Kyle are forever grateful. But this journey is far from easy. It is emotionally, mentally, and financially overwhelming. The stress of medical expenses, time away from work, hotel stays, gas, parking, meals on the road/hospital cafeteria and Kyle's constant hour long back-and-forth to the hospital is something no new parent should have to carry alone.

Many of you have asked how you can help. If you know Kyle and Kenzie, you know they would never ever ask for financial support themselves—so, here I am, asking you for your support. Kenzie and Kyle also decided to not have a baby shower so let's treat this as the best shower we could ever throw them!

This is our chance, as their village, to lift them up in this incredibly difficult time.

We all believe in Maverick. We believe in his strength, in the love that surrounds him, and in the future he will have because of the care he’s receiving. Kenzie and Kyle will be the most amazing parents, and one day, they will tell Maverick about the incredible outpouring of love that carried them through these early days.
