Ed and Ashley had been praying for years for a baby of their own. Many people in their community had also been praying for them. It seemed like it would never happen. They spent years helping to raise family members, going through their own health journey, and preparing for the day they might have their own bundle of joy. Then last summer, it finally happened; Ashley was pregnant!
Matthias was born, but his journey and challenges to be here with his family who love him so much, just continue. He and Ashley have spent three weeks in the hospital as Matthias was born premature. He had trouble breathing, eating, and fighting off infections. He was life-flighted last week from the hospital in Coeur d'Alene to Seattle's Children's Hospital to be given his best chance. Matthias has seen great improvements there but continues to stay put until he can thrive without around-the-clock support from the doctors.
Ed and Ashley are both waiting in the hospital for the day they can bring Matthias home. It has been five weeks of painfully waiting to bring Matthias home. They are staying in Airbnbs, as there is a waiting list for the Ronald McDonald House and not anything else available. As you can imagine, the bills for taking care of this precious little guy are beginning to overwhelm this family. Please consider supporting the Warren family.
