Please help us lay our baby boy Kashius to rest

On the night of December 21st, 2024, our 2-month-old Kashius felt extremely cold to the touch; his temperature was 95.6°F. I rushed him to the ER. We were transferred to a different hospital that had a better pediatric unit. The first thing that we were told (I thought my world was crashing down then) was that Kashius was aspirating on every amount of breast milk. He needed an NG tube.

Then we got more scans back and were told he had a pituitary dysfunction, which would make him delayed in most ways, would continue to have seizures, and need lifelong medication for his hormone levels. But there was still hope that down the road he would be able to eat by mouth again. We were discharged, and after a week of being home, Kashius was not acting his usual self and was admitted again on 1/17/2025 . We were told Kashius had RSV and Rhino Virus. He needed to be intubated to help with his oxygen.

After a few weeks, the doctors ordered genetic testing because nothing was making sense.

The test came back that Kashius' father and I are carriers for a genetic disorder, Asparagine Synthetase Deficiency (ASNS). Kashius is not a carrier but has the ASNS disease. The ASNS is an untreatable, awful, cruel disease; it basically eats at the brain, and children are not expected to live past childhood.

My beautiful 3-month-old Kashius has been fighting, but with the pituitary dysfunction and ASNS, his fight is almost over. We’re hoping to get help with funding to lay our baby boy to rest.
