On February 15, Haley and Ben Wahab welcomed their son, Benjamin Jude, into the world far earlier than anyone expected. Doctors now believe Jude was only 21 weeks and 6 days gestation when he was born, weighing just 1 pound 1 ounce.

From his very first breath, he has been fighting.

Haley had been hospitalized with severe bleeding and early labor, and the family prayed simply for more time. By God’s grace, Jude held on longer than doctors expected before delivery. Since his birth, every single day has truly been a miracle.

Jude has already endured more in his first days of life than most will in a lifetime. He has required a ventilator to breathe, emergency procedures to place lines into his circulation, blood transfusions, and constant monitoring around the clock. Recently, due to infection concerns and the level of specialized care he needed, Jude was airlifted to a larger hospital where neonatal specialists could treat him.

His days are still a roller coaster. His oxygen levels and blood pressure can change suddenly, and his tiny lungs, brain, and heart are still developing. Doctors continue to carefully adjust medications and treatments as he fights to grow stronger. We celebrate every stable hour, every good report, and every small victory.

Because of Jude’s critical condition, Haley and Ben cannot work at this time. They are currently living near the hospital so they can remain beside him while he stays in the NICU for an extended period of care.

This fundraiser will help provide stability for them during this season and allow them to stay present with their son. Funds will go directly to Ben and Haley to help cover:

• Temporary housing near the hospital

• Travel and fuel expenses

• Meals while living away from home

• Lost income during this extended NICU stay

• Out of pocket and ongoing care expenses

Any funds raised beyond immediate needs will continue to support Jude’s care and recovery after discharge.
