Jody's daughter's family is facing an incredibly challenging time after the early arrival of Baby Jason Xavier Lytle. Born unexpectedly in an emergency room bathroom the Saturday after Christmas, Baby Jason surprised everyone by coming before his scheduled delivery date. During Katelyn's pregnancy, he was diagnosed with Vanishing Gastroschisis, a rare condition where a baby'stomach doesn’t close all the way and organs are outside the body. In Baby Jason's case, the situation is severe, involving his small intestine, colon, and possibly his stomach. He has already undergone two surgeries and will need to stay in the hospital in Roger’s for at least six weeks before facing another procedure, which will take place much farther from home. The destination for this next step is still uncertain, adding to the family's stress and uncertainty.
The family is doing everything they can to stay strong and positive, but the challenges are immense. The costs of travel, lodging, and medical care are mounting, and there are also three young daughters at home—ages 8, 4, and 3—who need care and support while their parents focus on Baby Jason's recovery. Every contribution will help ease the burden on this loving family, allowing them to focus on what matters most: helping Baby Jason heal and keeping their family together during this difficult journey.
This is an amazing family that is handling their situation with so much strength and patience, but they could really use some help. Thank you for reading their story, and please keep Baby Jason and his family in your prayers. So far, he is doing well and receiving wonderful care from his nurses, and your support will mean the world to them as they continue this journey.
