As some of you may know, my close friends Bobbie and Bryan have just received the worst news any parent could imagine. Their sweet 6-month-old baby boy, Jackson, has been diagnosed with neuroblastoma cancer. The diagnosis came as a shock, and while we are still waiting to learn the stage, we do know there is a mass in his abdomen. Shortly after the diagnosis, Jackson was taken to the operating room for a biopsy. During the procedure, complications occurred, and an artery supplying blood to part of his small intestine was injured. This led to an unimaginable, life-or-death emergency. After 6–7 long hours of surgery, Jackson was transferred to the PICU, medically paralyzed and with his abdomen left open. He later required another surgery, where doctors had to remove approximately 100 cm of small intestine that had lost blood supply. On Friday, he returned to surgery. Thankfully, no additional intestine needed to be removed, though some areas are still being closely monitored. He is scheduled to go back to the operating room Monday with hopes of being closed and having a surgical bag placed. For now, cancer treatment is on hold as he focuses on recovering from these surgeries. Bobbie and Bryan are staying by Jackson’s side every moment, unable to work as they support their son through this unimaginable journey. The financial strain is immense, and they need help covering living expenses and bills while they remain in the hospital with Jackson. They are taking things one moment at a time and appreciate all of the love, prayers, and support more than we can ever express. Any help you can give means the world to this family as they face the unimaginable. Thank you for standing with Jackson, Bobbie, and Bryan during this incredibly difficult time.
