I am reaching out today with a heavy heart to ask for support for one of our fellow nurses, Augusto, who has recently experienced an unimaginable loss—the passing of his beloved wife.

Augusto is an incredible nurse, a devoted husband, and a deeply family‑oriented individual. His late wife was also a nurse, and her illness came unexpectedly. Tragically, she did not make it home, leaving behind her husband of many years and their two children.

In the midst of his grief, Augusto is now facing the overwhelming responsibility of caring for his disabled son and daughter on his own. He is doing everything he can to provide for them—managing his daughter’s college tuition, ongoing medical expenses for his son, and remaining medical costs related to his wife’s illness, all while continuing to cover everyday necessities like groceries, mortgage payments, and car expenses.

We can only begin to imagine how heavy this burden must feel during such a painful chapter of his life. As a healthcare community, we understand the importance of standing together in moments like this.
